New street is the mainline train station of the city. It’s the busiest rail station outside of London. Two other primary rail stations of the city are Moor Street and Snow Hill railway station.

Long distance destinations served include London (Euston Rail Station), Edinburgh (Waverley Station), Glasgow (Central Station), Cardiff in Wales, Oxford, Sheffield in South Yorkshire and Manchester (Piccadilly train station).

Where is Birmingham ?

The city can be reached by plane via Birmingham International Airport, which is located in the Solihull area. The airport can easily be reached by local public transport (Digbeth coach station). The National Exhibition Centre and Genting indoor arena area hotels are located adjacent to the airport. Close by is the National Motorcycle Museum.

The city’s main hospitals are the City Hospital, Birmingham Heartlands medical facilty and the large Queen Elizabeth healthcare center.

Town Hall Birmingham (Victoria Square, B3 3DQ Ladywood): concert venue classically designed, and recently renovated.

Electric Cinema (47 – 49 Station St, B5 4DY): great little cinema and sound recording facility. It’s the oldest working cinema in Britain.

Bullring Birmingham (St Martin’s Circus Queensway): shopping centre in a a central location and right next to train stations.

Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery (Chamberlain Square, B3 3DH, England): museum and gallery displaying a large variety of artefacts from different times.

Central Library (Chamberlain Square, B3 3HQ): library with lots of books located a mega size building in the city centre. The outside looks like a cake with its swirly design.

Chamberlain Square (Birmingham B3 3HQ, England (Ladywood)): lively square named after Joseph Chamberlain. Itis a very popular place where locals hang out.

Broad Street : Broad Street is a bustling entertainment district located near the ICC and National Indoor Arena.
