Why visit this town in Warwickshire England UK ?
Warwick is a metropolitan, progressive town that is also an economic centre. It also has a number of attractions that cannot be found anywhere else. The most famous is perhaps Warwick Castle which was has been beautifully preserved to date. It was built in the 11th Century in 1068 by William the Conqueror.
The grand castle has been compared to Windsor Castle in terms of size, status and cost. Since it was built, the castle has undergone structural changes like the addition of towers and the re-design of residential buildings. Also, in the 17th Century, the grounds were transformed into lush gardens.
The castle is currently owned by Tussauds, a large-scale operator of visitor attractions who oversees it as an important tourist attraction. It enjoys protection as a Scheduled Ancient Monument as well as a building listed as Grade I.
Other popular attractions to enjoy in the town include steam railways in and around the Cotswolds, the enchanting Cotswolds gardens including the Cotswold Hills that rise from the wide, green meadows of Upper Thames and form a striking escarpment over the Severn Valley and Eveshal Vale. It is one of the best representations of rural England.
