What to do and see ?
Regardless of your reason for visiting Buxton, you can be sure to find something fun to engage in. If you are not interested in the spa treatments for example, you can make your way to the Pavilion Gardens which features some ponds, winding paths, a miniature railway, and children’s play areas.
If you love opera, you can also pop into the Opera House which is in the same location as these gardens. Art lovers have a lot to look forward to as well and if you are one, the Buxton Museum and Art Gallery can be a good place to start.
For a good aerial view of the city, consider stopping by the Grinlow Tower, which is also one of the town’s most notable landmarks. The good thing about touring this town is that it is well served by public transport; so, no matter where you choose to go for your sightseeing adventures, you can find transport back to your accommodation with ease.
There are also trains and taxis that transport travellers from the train station to Stockport and central Manchester Piccadilly station among other destinations. Therefore, if you prefer not to use a bus to get around, you can opt for these instead
Cheap Places to Stay – Find your hotel or b&b room !
If you are visiting Buxton for the first time, you shouldn’t worry about where to stay as it has just as many cheap hotels as it has affordable bed and breakfast venues. The best place to stay all depends on the features you are looking for as well as how much you intend to spend.
If you are ready to pay a higher amount, you can get a cheap B&B’s spot that has family rooms and a swimming pool right at the town centre. Even though there are also cheap hotels at the town centre, you will locate more of these as you move further away.
If you are after a place that is private, cosy, and with fewer tourists, you might want to check into the bed and breakfast cottages that are located in the countryside. Most of these places have family rooms with balconies where you can sit and enjoy a drink as you take in the surroundings and the beautiful views at sunset.
Some cheap B&B’s and inns have a swimming pool as well where you can enjoy a swim in the pool within the venue itself. As long as you book your accommodation early, you can be sure not to encounter disappointments.
