The West Yorkshire Town of Huddersfield is known for its charm and friendliness of the local people.

This is where the northern rugby football union was founded in 1895. Galpharm Stadium is home to Huddersfield Giants (rugby) and Huddersfield Town (football). Spend a day in Marsden Moor Estate that surrounds the village of Marsden. It’s a huge area of moorland with valleys, reservoirs, peaks and wonderful walking trails. There are even Roman archaeological remains and a visitor centre next to Marsden rail station.

Castle Hill is also a popular attraction. It used to be a Victorian tower and was built to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Silver Jubilee. Don’t forget to take your camera to capture panoramic views of the town and the beautiful countryside.

The University of Huddersfield which was a former Polytechnic, is just outside the ring road of the town centre. Its’ easy to find and well signposted.
