Local B&B’s and Guesthouses in the area often have cheap rates, especially out of the main summer months. The General Infirmary, also known as the LGI, is a large teaching hospital located right in the city centre of Leeds in West Yorkshire. It’s part of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. LGI is one of the leading centres in the UK for neurosurgery, and one of 10 centres in the UK for Paediatric cardiology.
The medical facility provides many general acute hospital services such as an A&E department, intensive care, state of the art operating theatres and a high-tech high dependency unit.
LGI prides itself on its accessible car parking across all its sites and has been awarded the Park Mark award for promoting safety and security for patients and visitors. There are dedicated spaces for emergency visitors to intensive care wards, plenty of disabled blue badge holder spaces and specific parent parking for the children’s hospital.

The hospital is situated in the heart of the city center, and is served by LeedsCityBus. Many other buses stop on The Headrow, which is a short walk from the hospital. The Metro bus service also provides a number of busses travelling near the Dental Institute which is located off Clarendon Way.

Visit one of the many varied museums and art galleries such as the Armley Mills Industrial Museum or the fascinating Royal Armouries.
