Situated on the Fylde Coast in the UK, is the seaside resort town of Blackpool. The town is located close Lancaster, South Merseyside, Preston in Lancashire and Pemberton, and is easily accessible by train and road. There are a number of cheap b&b places to be found in South Shore, North and Central areas and family rooms can be availed at special rates. The Chelston Hotel for example near the town centre offers comfortable guest rooms to let. Close to the Pier, near the famous Pleasure Beach theme park is a family run bed and breakfast called St. Elmo, which along with being conveniently located is affordable and comfortable.
Phoenix is another friendly place to stay for a night, not far from the seafront parking area, and a short distance from the Winter Gardens, Central Pier and Blackpool Tower. It offers reasonably priced (last minute) accommodation that is clean and cosy.
Families looking for child friendly overnight accommodation can choose from the several guest houses scattered around the town. The Marlow Lodge Hotel is one such place that families looking for a decent place to stay can consider. This facility is run by a family. Spacious family rooms that can accommodate a family of four can also be rented. These consist of two rooms and come with bunk beds for the kids and a double bed for the parents.

The Pleasure Beach is a popular theme park that is located along the South Shore area. Visitors to the theme park can enjoy various rides here; both old and the latest technologically driven ones.
The Grand Theatre is a nice place to spend an evening. The stately building was renovated a few years back. Visitors to the resort town can catch shows, musicals and plays organized on a regular basis at the Grand theatre. The seating is comfy and there is ample parking available.
The North Shore has a cabaret show bar that goes by the name Funny Girls. The show runs to packed house, and is a must watch if you are visiting Blackpool. The Tower Ballroom next to the Promenade has great structural design and a lovely ambience for some old style ballroom dancing.
The town is served by several railway stations. These are North, South, Pleasure Beach, Layton and Squires Gate. The primary hub is Blackpool North train station.
Visitors willing to go to Pleasure Beach by train have to change at Kirkham and take the Blackpool South line which takes you to Pleasure Beach Station, the last one before the town’s South railway station. Pleasure Beach has also its own tram stop located just outside the entrance of the park.
