The town is located close Lancaster, South Merseyside, Preston in Lancashire and Pemberton, and is easily accessible by train and road. The resort town is fairly large and is a unique amalgamation of the old and the new worlds. The union of the two worlds is palpable the second you hit the seafront.
Three piers (Central, North and South) from a bygone era stand magnificently on the seafront, and alongside them are the many modern facilities of the seaside resort.
