Types of Accommodation in Glasgow
The city has excellent transport links including an airport, two central train stations, buses and even an underground system. Another major facility in the city is the SSE Hydro Arena on SEC, Stobcross Rd.
As a result, you could consider searching for accommodation slightly further out of the city center, such as bed and breakfasts. Although this option would mean staying further away from the Emirates Arena and velodrome you can easily and quickly get around the city. Bed and breakfast on the outskirts of the city can be a quieter choice.

If you are looking for a luxurious break then five star hotels may be the right option for you. There are many to choose from, such of which have restaurants, luxurious furnishings, spacious rooms, breakfast included and on site spa facilities.
For a romantic break there are lots of lovely bed and breakfasts to choose from. A bed and breakfast can be a cosy choice. For a family, one of the many apartments might be the best option in order to ensure there is plenty of space and a self catering option. A family run b&b could also be a more informal option.
An apartment can also offer a stylish option to other types of visitors such as couples wishing to stay in a stylish and spacious type of accommodation that offers more freedom than a bed and breakfast. Groups of friends may also find apartments a great choice since they can accommodate various different group sizes and often are much cheaper than getting several rooms in a hotel or bed and breakfast. Alternatively, groups may be able to book all the rooms at a b&b.
Finding the Best Cheap Deals
With so many hotels, b&bs and apartments to choose from in Glasgow’s G40 3HG area there are many ways to find cheap deals near the arena and velodrome. One way to find the best deal is to be flexible on the type of accommodation you want.
A b&b is not always cheaper than a hotel but often hotels have great deals. If there are two couples wishing to stay in Glasgow, searching for two rooms in hotels could end up a cheaper option because ordering multiple rooms in hotels can result in a discount, whereas a bed and breakfast could have fixed rates.
In cities often b&bs are often further out of the city. Family run independent bed and breakfasts can sometimes be a cheaper option than other establishments. It might also be worth considering apartments because a two bedroom apartment could end up significantly cheaper as well, and also offer a more sociable, communal accommodation for your stay.
Deals occur all the time so it is worth searching for accommodation at any time, whether it is far in advance or last minute. Making reservations very far in advance can help ensure you find a great deal before any accommodation options become sold out.
Alternatively, there can be many great last minute deals that are budget friendly. If you are flexible on your requirements such as location, type of lodging and star rating then last minute deals could be the best option. However, if you have specific requirements such as wanting spa facilities, one type of accommodation only, a large group needing overnight stays, then last minute deals could be more risky as there may not be anything available. With so many deals you’ll surely enjoy your stay in Glasgow.
