The Isle of Wight takes on a festival like atmosphere over the week, as it welcomes not only the boating crews and support staff but also up to 100,000 spectators eager to see the best in British boating competing for glory. The racing takes place in the Solent (the strait between England and the Isle of Wight) which is known for it’s tricky and challenging strong double tides, and this allows the sailors to showcase their technical skills while battling the elements.
