Today the Royal Infirmary hospital facility contains over 700 beds and is the main provider of Emergency services in the area, with some 120,000 patients passing through A&E every year. The Accident and Emergency Department has recently been through a major multimillion pound improvement and refurbishment to ensure patients have the best possible care available.
In 2010 a multimillion pound Renal Dialysis Department was opened and the following year a Dermatology unit and Ophthalmology unit were opened. The hospital is also a partner in the Hull York Medical School where the first doctors graduated in 2008 and which is greatly contributing to attracting doctors to the area of the highest calibre. The East Riding Medical Education Centre is also located within the grounds. Both are run by Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

How to get to – Directions
The Royal Infirmary is located midway along Anlaby Road, not far from West Park and is easily accessible by bus, taxi and car as well as by assisted transport provided by Medibus. There are several regular bus services that stop on Anlaby Road and Argyle Street, plus there is the Park and Ride service from Walton Street and Priory Park.
The railway station is only a 10-minute walk away with train services arriving from the major towns across Yorkshire. Pay and display car parking is available on Argyle Street and plenty of parking spaces can be found in and around the hospital grounds.
There is lots to do in the nearby area with a great choice of art galleries, museums and plenty of great cafes and restaurants. The Deep is the city’s biggest attraction, a spectacular world renowned aquarium great for all ages. Hull Marina is a lively and interesting area full of historic vessels and has many eateries along the waterfront.
By Train : Hull Paragon Interchange train station is a 10 minute walk from Hull Royal Infirmary.
The rail station is served directly by trains (Northern Rail) from Beverley, Cottingham, Driffield, Bridlington, Sheffield train station, York railway station and Doncaster train station.
Additional there is 1 train service, provided by East Coast trains, to London King’s Cross. First Hull Trains provides rail services to London King’s Cross at several times a day.
One First TransPennine Express train run to Manchester Piccadilly, while 1 train per day goes to Liverpool Lime Street.
