When you are ready for something a little more adventurous head to Alton Towers theme park and its white-knuckle rides. Brave the vertical drop of the Oblivion or the force of Rita, The Queen of Speed Catapult. Visitors with children will find plenty of activity at the Waterworld complex of indoor swimming pools.
It is well worth spending a day or two exploring the countryside around Stoke, Westport Lake, the sandstone canyons of Park Hall Country Park and the Victorian Burslem Park are all worth visiting.
