Places to Stay -before or after Your Trip
The exciting city of Bristol in the West Country of England is considered to be the fourth top visitor destination. Many holidaymakers as well as business travelers choose to fly to Bristol Airport which is around seven miles south west of the city centre. It was built on the site of a former RAF airfield and opened in 1957 as Bristol (Lulsgate) Airport. In 1997 it changed its name to Bristol International.
Best Accommodation near Bristol Airport
One of the cheapest b&b’s next to the airport is Acorns Guest House. This budget accommodation is situated very close to Bristol Airport and offers free shuttle transfers (24 hours). At this cheap b&b you can leave your car after you check out at an additional cost. On your return you can be collected from outside the airport terminal building and taken to your car.
Check also availability, room amenities, facilities, … for popular luxury 4 star Cadbury House Hotel. This top quality and boutique style accommodation is situated in Avon, Bristol, just under 4 miles from the M5 motorway and 5 miles from Bristol Airport.
Set in beautiful grounds, the Cadbury Hotel & Spa enjoys wonderful views across the Bristol Channel and beyond. Hotel very good located, away from it all but within easy reach of a number of attractions, airport and the beach.
How to get there
Unfortunately there is no direct train link between the terminal building and the city, however there is a reliable flyer bus service. Buses are available every ten minutes taking approximately thirty five minutes to reach the city centre.
It only costs round about 11 pounds for a return ticket or a 7 pound fare for one way travel. If traveling by car the airport is well signposted from the M5 and you won’t have any problem with parking spaces once you arrive.
There’s also a taxi rank just outside the arrivals hall. Remember to ask the price for the cost of travel to your bed and breakfast, hostel or hotel accommodation before setting off. Of course one of the reasons to stay in cheap b&b’s or hotels close by is to save on the cost of transport.
You won’t have to pay for parking or in many cases a shuttle service, when staying in cheap places to stay. What’s more guests can expect modern and comfortable rooms in Bristol bed and breakfast establishments.
Why stay within close distance?
Making reservations for rooms not far away from the airport will give you more time to see many of Bristol’s top attractions. Pay a visit to the Zoo Gardens, the museum, art galleries or the Old Vic which is the oldest working theater in the UK.
Shopaholics will have plenty of choice in Cabot Circus, Bristol’s latest and largest shopping complex which has an amazing array of shops, cafes, restaurants and even a thirteen screen cinema. The good news is there is an extensive selection of attractive b&b’s and affordable hotel accommodation for a night to suit all tastes and budgets within fifteen minutes of the airport. Popular in the city is also renting a serviced apartment for 1 night, a weekend or a few nights.
To save cash, why not reserve bed and breakfast accommodation which includes a free shuttle service to the airport? This will save you for having to pay for airport parking fees which can be quite expensive, depending on the length of stay.
